More Bowls

More Bowls!

It has been a very long time since I have written anything here. I am happy to say I am still working on bowls. I have uploaded a few new pictures and I'm hoping to have some more up by the end of the week. If you are interested in any particular bowl or have any questions about the project, feel free to email me (erikareid@gmail.com). Each handmade bowl takes much longer to create than I originally thought. Many hours goes into designing and implementing my plans to create the finished product. The project is going to run longer than I originally planned but the goal is still the same!

Three of my bowls will be in an exhibition at Memorial University Queen Elizabeth II Library in St. John's. If you are in the area, stop by and check it out. The show starts on September 8th and runs for several weeks. It includes the work of many of Sir Wilfred Grenfell College's Visual Arts 2009 graduates.

Last Day of Show!

Today was the last day of the show at the JL Gallery in Corner Brook.  Thanks to everyone that attended!  For anyone that missed the show and events, do not be distraught, I have already begun planning another exhibition.  There will be more opportunities to buy bowls.  For anyone that would like to support or learn more about the project, feel free to e-mail me at erikareid@gmail.com.  I hope to have more pictures up soon and I am continuously creating more bowls.  For anyone in the Corner Brook vicinity, more of my bowls will be shown as part of my graduation exhibition at the Sir Wilfrid Grenfell College Gallery opening April 18th.  Below are some links to some writing that was done about the JL Gallery show.

The Show is Open!

The Show is Open!

The bowls are finally on display at 86 West Street.  The gallery opening was last night and I'd like to say thanks to everyone that came out to show support.  I was on the Corner Brook Cafe show on Friday to explain about the project and exhibition.  On Monday I'll be on the CBC radio morning show for a short interview so tune in!  I'm continuing with the bowl making and hopefully I'll update my pictures soon so you can view all the bowls to date.  

If you could not make it to the gallery last night, relax -the show is up until March 21 so drop by the JL Gallery at 86 West Street and check it out.  The gallery hours are: 11-4:30 Tuesday-Thursday, 11-4pm on Friday and Saturday.

Hey Everyone!

Check out the slideshow on the left of the page (click on the thumbnail and you can see larger pictures).  I'm finally getting around to updating this page.  I have added pictures of a few of the bowls (photography compliments of Danielle Reardon).  Hopefully over the next few weeks I'll get lots more up so keep checking back.  Just so you all know, The Abundant Love Bowl Project will be debuting at JL Gallery, 86 West Street, Corner Brook in 2 weeks.  The opening is 7-9PM on March 5th and will be running until March 21st.  I hope you can all drop by to see the show, it would be nice to get lots of local support.  Hope to see you there!
